Privacy Policy

Effective 22 October 2026

Armchair has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your books, notes and characters are stored on your phone, and nowhere else.

What the app uses, and why

Your notes

Everything you write in Armchair stays on your phone: your books, chapters, notes, characters and the covers you add. None of it is uploaded to me or to any server.

When you export your notes, Armchair makes a file and hands it to your phone’s share menu. It goes only where you send it.

Finding books

Book searches go to Open Library, a free catalog run by the Internet Archive, so it can find matching titles. The covers load from Open Library too. Like any website, Open Library sees your device’s internet address and what you searched for, under the Internet Archive’s own policies. The cover you pick is saved on your phone, so the app doesn’t fetch it again.

Sending feedback

The About screen has a feedback form. If you send it, I receive your message, the email address you add (it’s optional), and the app’s version, your platform (Android or iOS) and its version. It never includes your notes or books. I use what you send only to reply and to improve the app, and I don’t share it.

Stored on your phone

Your books, chapters, notes and characters, the covers you add, and your settings. If your phone backs up its apps to your Google or Apple account, Armchair’s data can be included in that backup, under that service’s own terms. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, removes everything from the phone.

What is not collected

The app contains no third-party code that collects data: no analytics, crash reporting or advertising code. Nothing is sold, or shared for advertising.

Tracking

Armchair does not track you across apps and websites or anywhere else.

Changes

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, I will update this page and the effective date above.
